Perseverance does pay off – true stories
We are surrounded by business owners that persevered through many failures to be the household names we know today. My favorite story (and for my clients who have gone through a business dissolution with me, yes, I am telling you again) is that of the Heinz brothers who filed bankruptcy prior to hitting on the Heinz 57 brand we all know today. Vera Wang started as an Olympic hopeful ice skater that did not make it to the Olympic team. She then became an editor at Vogue, but did not make it to editor-in-chief. At 40 years old, she started designing and the rest is history. J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter was rejected by all 12 major publishers. It was accepted by a small publishing house which only printed 1,000 copies of the book on the first run. Today, it is rare that someone does not know of Harry Potter. My point is that no matter where you are at, one of the key ingredients to success is perseverance in the pursuit of your goal whatever that may be.
