Personal income tax returns due April 15, 2026 – NEXT WEEK
Individual tax returns are due April 15, 2026, unless you file an extension. In order to avoid penalties for a late filed business return, the IRS must receive the extension for the tax return by April 15, 2026. Extensions extend the deadline to October 15, 2026. However, the extension does not eliminate the requirement to pay any taxes (including estimated taxes) due on March 15th. IRS Form 4868 to request an extension may be found at www.irs.gov. Again, the Application for Automatic Extension must be received by IRS by the deadline to avoid any penalties. Arizona honors federal tax returns extensions. There is no separate form to file for Arizona to extend the deadline to file Arizona individual tax returns. Also, remember the IRS no longer accepts paper checks or money orders for payment of taxes and you must pay taxes electronically.
