Please see our FAQs for additional information on fees. DON’T STRESS we will help you with a plan for payment of fees during your initial consultation. The actual hard costs for bankruptcy are:
Filing Fees
- Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: $338
- Chapter 13 Bankruptcy: $313
- Chapter 11, Subchapter V Bankruptcy: $1,738
Costs to obtain Credit Reports
- Individual: $45
- Married Couple: $90
Costs for Credit Counseling/Financial Management Classes
- There is a class that you must take prior to filing any type of bankruptcy (Credit Counseling) and one that you take after you have filed your case (Financial Management). They are really just online questionnaires that you may also complete by phone. You will take these classes with a court approved provider and pay for them directly. Costs vary from $9 – $15 per class depending on the provider.
Please note that attorney fees and filing fees are separate charges. Filing fees are fixed, but attorney fees vary by case. Chapter 13 bankruptcies have additional fees after the bankruptcy filing, but those are paid through the Chapter 13 Plan as part of the monthly Chapter 13 Plan payment.
