Why Have an Attorney File Your BOIR?

If you are going to pay anyone to file your business’ BOIR, hire an attorney. Some BOIRs are super simple, but others can be complicated if there is a business that owns the reporting company, or a trust owns the business. It is also important to ensure that spouses are included as beneficial owners in community property states. If you have questions about what should be in your BOIR, get a legal opinion as this is legal work, not tax work.
