Lisa C. Thompson is certified to practice law in both Arizona and Washington D.C. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law with her Juris Doctor in 1995 and in 1997 with her LL.M. (Master of Laws) in international trade law. She speaks Spanish and is currently and has been an adjunct professor with the International M.B.A. program at Universidad Internacional de las Americas in San Jose, Costa Rica. She has also taught U.S.Constitutional law for the Universidad de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. She has taught Legal Research and Writing for three years at the University of Arizona, College of Law and continues to teach Legal Research and Writing during the Fall semester. Prior to teaching, Lisa worked for two years as a clerk in a personal injury firm and won awards for oral advocacy. She is the 1996 Munger Scholar for International Business Law and has published two articles in legal journals. The first is titled: “The ISO 9000 Quality Standards: Will They Constitute a Technical Barrier to Free trade Under the NAFTA and the WTO?” and was published in the University of Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law in 1997. The second article was published by the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce in the Fall of 1997 and is titled: “International Dispute Resolution in the United States and Mexico: A Practical guide to Terms, Arbitration Clauses, and the Enforcement of Judgments and Arbitral Awards”. Lisa has been a partner in her own firm since 1995 and has focuses her practice on corporate law, collections, general civil litigation, and construction law.
